Character Profile from the novel 'When Dogs Cry'

Sarah

Physical description: Sarah is physically described as a young woman who is blessed with a great body and dresses herself with attractive clothing.

Personality traits: Sarah is a kind, thoughtful and outgoing person. Even though Sarah is somewhat reserved at times, she is not afraid to say what’s on her mind. I also believe she is funny and has a good sense of humor.

Strength and weakness: Sarah is described as a hardworking woman who is independent and loyal to her job. She always gets the job done and occasionally endures many overtime when working. She is also a very talented photographer. I believe this is one of her many strengths. One of Sarah’s weakness would be her past, how she was abusing alcohol and would be described as a party animal who would always go out and party to get wasted and would get involved with many men resulting her heart to break multiple times.

His or her defining moment in the story: I believe Sarah’s defining moment would have to be when she was slowly changing her act of this party girl to this hardworking person.

How they changed throughout the book: In the book we were told how Sarah evolves from this girl who used to love going out to clubs to get wasted and smoking her fair share of cigarettes to this confident, hard working person who greatly enjoys photography.

One quote that sums him or her up:  ‘I love this photo, it looks like brothers’.

Include an image or visual representation that you believe represents your chosen character:

Explain why you believe your chosen images represent the character from ‘When Dogs Cry’: I chose this image of a camera as the representation of the character because of Sarah’s love for photography. In almost every chapter she stars in she is holding a camera or taking photos with it. I guess in some ways its like her security blanket, it's a part of her.

The Soundtrack Of My Life.

Music has always been a big part of my life as there has never been a day i have not listen to music.

If ever i was to create a soundtrack of my life consisting of 5 songs, this would be it;

1. Teletubbies, Say Eh-Oh by Teletubbies Theme Song.
This song was first introduced to me when i was a young age of 3. The Television show, Teletubbies has been a big part of my early childhood as i was a big fan of it at the time. Growing up whenever this song would ever play on T.V. i would rush to sit in front of it, to catch the song.

2. Macarena by Los del Río.
This song reminds of the time when i used to go to work with my mum on Bounty Cruises for their evening buffet nights. The DJ would always play this song and i would get up with all the tourist on stage and perform the dance at the tender age of about 4.

3. Three Little Birds by Bob Marley.
Whenever i hear this song, it always takes me back to my early childhood when my father would grab his guitar and sing this song to me. This song was my first taste of reggae music for which i like listening to these days.

4.  I'm Yours by Jason Mraz.
Whenever this song plays i am transported to the many times of driving in my mums car listening to the song and singing along to it. It also takes me back to the times my friends and i would attempt to play this song with a guitar, unfortunately none of us could play a guitar which resulted in bad strumming and attempting to sing without fully knowing the lyrics. When i heard the artist, Jason Mraz was coming to Bali, i was so pumped to go that it became my first live/concert performance i attended.

5. Little Black Submarine by The Black Keys.
If ever i feel depressed, bored, tired or in a mood and need some cheering up,  i like to play this song as it is not only one of my favourite songs but it also has a very uplifting tune which helps me get pumped up. It also brings memories of my good friend Chey as we would always dance wildly to this song whenever it gets to the bridge part.

Because of you....

Because of this person I am who I am today. This person has been a constant influence in my life. My rock. I like to think that this person has helped me shaped my personality, my beliefs, my interests and provided me with direction in my life. From as young as i can remember she has encouraged me always to do the right thing, think of others first and to always use my please and thank you'. She has provided me with many opportunities with experiences of travelling abroad, encouraging me to try different activities, and supporting my interests. She has always been my biggest cheerleader but can also be my biggest critic to help me learn from my mistakes, to always think before I do and to always give more effect when things don't work out my way. She has taught me the value of money, to work and save towards something and not to always expect it handed to me. She has always encouraged me to go for quality over quantity and as I'm getting older I'm learning to appreciate that more. The person i will always be forever grateful is 'my mother'.

The List

Noun; A list is a number of connected items or names written consecutively.

Everyone has a list or a bucket list as I like to call it, whether it is a list of place's to visit or an activity. Not everyone's list is the same and with that i present to you my cliff jumping list. A shorter version anyway.

Cliff jumping is a thrilling, memorable and dangerous past time but its something I have always wanted to try. This is my pick of the top 3 best cliffs around the world that I would love to give a go at.

1. Negril, Jamaica.
Located on Jamica's western tip, this 40-feet cliff is a well-known favourite spot for cliff jumpers. Known for their breathtaking Caribbean sunsets, mysterious caves and beautiful clear blue water, Negril Cliff's would definitely be my first choice for cliff jumping.

2. Santorini Island, Greece.
A great place to tempt fate in Greece is Santorini's cliff which is located on the famous Kamari beach. More than a place to witness a pretty sunset the large 35-foot rock wall offers a thrilling jump into the ocean.

3. South point cliffs. The Big Island, Hawaii.
The South point cliffs also known as Ka Lae-Hawaiian for The Point-is the southernmost point on the big island, hawaii. With gorgeous views and warm waters this place is definitely a great place to take a plunge.
