Work Experience

Now that work experience has officially finished, I am now able to reflect on the many things I learnt and the situations I faced when working at Exotic Hideaways my choice of employment for the week. I was extremely fortunate enough to work along side with amazing people who have years of experience in their field and who were also patient enough to teach me the things they excel at in their field of experience.
Throughout my journey of work experience I was able to learn many things such as how the company operates, what the different departments within the company focuses on, who does what, who is in charge of who, what to look out for when inspecting a villa, how to deal with clients face to face and I even learnt how to do basic office work such as filling, how to create an invoice, updating the website and company calendar, filling out employee contracts for insurance, answering emails and phone calls, etc.
When I first started my work experience i came across very shy and hesitant but as the day progressed I became more comfortable and eager to learn. The only thing I really struggled on was taking the calls as I was really shy at first. Overall I enjoyed my work experience immensely and am now able to take the job into consideration when planning my future career.

Here are some pictures of the many Villa's Exotic Hideaways manages...

I was lucky enough to be able to visit Villa Sundara when inspecting villas near Tanah Lot. Villa Sundara is the picture below.

Pre Work Experience

As part of this semesters Humanities class, we are required to complete a week of work experience.  Organising my work experience was definitely an experience, I hadn't realise how complicated and time consuming the actually task was. There was the task of completing all the necessary work forms, getting the signatures and permission forms done, setting up an interview and so on.  When in the course of completing this task I was able to learn about my future involvement or should I say role towards my upcoming week of work experience all by arranging an interview with my employer to learn a little more of what was to be expected of me. Thinking of bad circumstances that could happen when doing my work experience didn't exactly contribute to the fact that I was already nervous to start my first day on Monday. There was always a question looming over me like, What if I don’t get on with my workmates? What if I immediately stuff up on something? What if I’m expected to do something I don't understand and there’s no one there to assist me? There was just questions after questions that consistently played on my nerves but was quickly settled when I had the interview.  Now I’m hoping that everything will go smoothly and that the week of work experience will live up to my expectations, which is to learn a more in depth detail of how my chosen workplace operates and so on.
