As part of this semesters Humanities class, we are
required to complete a week of work experience. Organising my work
experience was definitely an experience, I hadn't realise how complicated and
time consuming the actually task was. There was the task of completing all the necessary work forms, getting the signatures and permission forms done, setting up an interview and so on. When in the course of completing this
task I was able to learn about my future involvement or should I say role
towards my upcoming week of work experience all by arranging an interview with
my employer to learn a little more of what was to be expected of me. Thinking
of bad circumstances that could happen when doing my work experience didn't
exactly contribute to the fact that I was already nervous to start my first day
on Monday. There was always a question looming over me like, What if I don’t
get on with my workmates? What if I immediately stuff up on something? What if
I’m expected to do something I don't understand and there’s no one there to
assist me? There was just questions after questions that consistently played on
my nerves but was quickly settled when I had the interview. Now I’m hoping that everything will go
smoothly and that the week of work experience will live up to my expectations, which is to learn a more in depth detail of how my chosen workplace operates and so on.
